WOMEN ARE CALLED TO
TRAIN BY EXAMPLE
We are now in a new age. There more people over age 60 than under 18. The Apostle Paul recognized the value and usefulness of senior adults in general, and of women in particular when he addressed senior women in Titus 2:3-older Christian woman are to teach the younger women in the church and in her home.
Older Christian women - you have a mandate from Almighty God to obey. What are you doing right now to obey this? Younger women - allow the older women of the church to teach you.
Looking back I can recall women, older women that came by my side and spoke into my life. They didn’t point out the things in my life that needed changing, instead they came by me as friends and mentors, showing by example the things God would have me do.
A renewing of the mind comes about through the washing of the word and by examples set before us through those that mentor us.
Examples of this teaching are:
LOVE YOUR HUSBAND
LOVE YOUR CHILDREN
BE DISCREET AND CHASTE
OBEY YOUR OWN HUSBAND
TEACH WHAT IS GOOD
ENCOURAGE THE YOUNG WOMEN
(James 1:22)"DO NOT MERELY LISTEN TO THE WORD, AND SO DECEIVE YOURSELVES. DO WHAT IT SAYS."
(Titus 2:3-4) "TEACH THE OLDER WOMEN TO BE REVERENT IN THE WAY THEY
LIVE. NOT TO BE SLANDERERS OR ADDICTED TO MUCH WINE. BUT TO TEACH WHAT IS GOOD. THEN THEY CAN TRAIN THE YOUNGER WOMEN TO LOVE THEIR HUSBANDS AND CHIILDREN, TO BE SELF-CONTROLLED AND PURE, TO BE BUSY AT HOME, TO BE KIND AND TO BE SUBJECT TO THEIR HUSBANDS, SO THAT NO ONE WILL MALIGN THE WORD OF GOD"
