WHY JESUS LEFT THE GLORY OF HEAVEN
Hebrews 10:1-22
WHY WAS JESUS BORN?
1. TO PERFECT WHAT THE LAW COULD NOT PERFECT (V1-9)
The whole Mosaic system was a shadow of something better.
The OT sacrifices had to be dragged to the altar
The OT sacrifices could never cleanse us from all sin
The law was inadequate to - clear our consciences,- to make us clean -
to appease God’s wrath
WHY WAS JESUS BORN?
2.TO MAKE US HOLY AS HE IS HOLY (V 10)
To sanctify us both positionally - to set us apart as holy, innocent
and spotless
To sanctify us practically - transform us in our actions, desires ,
behavior and motives
WHY WAS JESUS BORN?
3. TO OFFER HIS LIFE THAT WE MIGHT
LIVE (V 11,12,14)
John 3:16
"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that
whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.
WHY WAS JESUS BORN?
4. TO CONQUER SATAN BOTH NOW AND
FOREVER (V 13, 15-18)
The incarnation was to deliver a death blow to Satan
Genesis 3:15
And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, And between your seed
and her seed; He shall bruise you on the head, And you shall bruise him
on the heel."
WHY WAS JESUS BORN?
5. TO MINISTER AS OUR GREAT HIGH
PRIEST (V 19-23)
Because He came:
We can approach the throne of God The Father anytime
We can come boldly
We can come confidently
WHY WAS JESUS BORN?
TO PERFECT WHAT THE LAW COULD NOT
PERFECT
TO MAKE US HOLY AS HE IS HOLY
TO CONQUER SATAN NOW AND FOREVER
TO MINISTER AS OUR GREAT HIGH PRIEST
